Burns Night 2016
Become a Burns Victim at this irreverent celebration of the iconic Scottish poet Robert Burns (read: a shamelessly a-traditional evening of haggis tossing, blue poetry, and outstanding beers from the almighty Tempest Brewing Co). Anyone who joined us for last year's celebration will understand why Burns' Night is now very dear to our hearts, and to turn our backs on it now would be unforgivable. Our beer poets have been coaxed out of hibernation to regale us with all the finest high-gravity rhymes and hop-laden similes in their well-woven malty verse.
Taking care of the taps this year, we are very proud to welcome Tempest brewer Graeme Martin to the fray. He will be joining us to introduce "Old Parochial", Tempest's new whisky barrel aged scotch ale, which will be on surging through the veins of our Kegerator, as well as giving us the full story on the rest of the Tempest range. For those of you yet to have 'the pleasure', Tempest are based on the Scottish Borders, and are the makers of arguably the best IPA to grace our shelves, Brave New World, as well as mocha porters, extra extra pale ales, saison ciders, black ipas, and velvety oyster stouts.
Prizes will be up for grabs on the haggis toss, as well as for anyone who can pen a rhyme or two about the wonderful world of beer in which we so merrily live. Quills and porters at the ready, it's time for Boutique Burns Night #2!
A very limited number of seated tickets will be available, these will guarantee you a beer, a grand view of the poetry, a few nibbles, a slice of all the action as it happens. If you can't get tickets fear not: show up on the night, grab a teacake, and make yourselves at home.
